The San Diego Chapter of Make A Wish is holding Wags for Wishes, an annual dog show. The dog show will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday (July 6th through July 8th). It will be at the Del Mar Horsepark.

Wags for Wishes is open to the public and dogs are (of course) welcome as long as they are on leashes. Children 12 and younger are free. Admission for adults and those over 12 is $5.

Make A Wish anticipates 2,000 competitors and 12,000 spectators. “It’s the largest and most comprehensive dog show on the West Coast. People come from all over to compete,” said Suzanne Albert, Director of Program Services for the San Diego Chapter. Dogs will compete in 10 events such as agility, herding, flyball and lure coursing.

Albert states that the average wish costs about $7,000. Last year the Wags for Wishes event raised about $100,000. Events such as Wags for Wishes help the chapter grant wishes for children.
