Occasionally I hear from people who would like to fundraise to help a particular person who has financial needs based on a medical situation. Perhaps a hospitalization or treatment is needed for a serious illness. Even with health insurance, facing the financial responsibility of paying for medical treatment can become overwhelming.
In this month’s Step By Step Fundraising Newsletter I’ll be featuring two articles about raising money for individuals. Earlier this year I spoke with Jennifer Shih, a young woman whose friends raised money for her own heart transplant in 2004 and who now advocates for other transplant patients. Plus I’ll feature a list of tips for anyone who needs to raise money for such an individual situation.
Normally I send out the newsletter the first full week of the month, but this time it will be delayed since I’ll be traveling this week. In the meantime if you have any questions about fundraising for individuals let me know and I’ll try to cover them in the article.
