Garage Sale Fundraiser

by Sandra Sims on 30 Mar 2004 | Categorized as: excluded

Last Saturday Sarah, one of our mentors, held a group garage sale at her home. It was rainy early in the morning and we were worried about the turnout. Actually there were quite a few shoppers early in the morning, the “professional garage salers.” By late morning it was pretty dead. The total raised at the sale was nearly $200.

The most unusual item for sale was a golf themed lamp: the base was a miniature golf bag and the top was an umbrella. It was quite a conversation piece.

8 Miler

by Sandra Sims on 16 Mar 2004 | Categorized as: excluded

This past weekend we were once again graced with rain. I just wish it would wait til Saturday afternoon to start the downpours! Needless to say, our group was a washout. I did my 8 miles yesterday instead. This is the longest distance I have walked in a long time. Probably since my last marathon training.

Our team is getting some group fundraisers together. Hope to have more news soon.

Busy TNT Weekend

by Sandra Sims on 10 Mar 2004 | Categorized as: excluded

Last Saturday our Team had a very busy weekend. Since Nancy and I are doing the half marathon we walked 6 miles. We talked and talked the whole time, but we got our miles in. It was great for Nancy as this was the longest distance she’d ever walked. This exercising thing is pretty new to her, and it’s fun to be able to give her some encouragement. I hope I’m helping anyway.

After the walk we had a stretching clinic at the YMCA. The leader taught us about proper stretching techniques to do before and after a run or walk.
Then we all headed over to Pioneer for a breakfast to celebrate our honored heros. Both Daniel and his wife came and Nancy brought Desi and his little cousin. It was fun to get a chance to hang out with the team. My pictures didn’t turn out, so I hope someone else’s did.

Low cost Webhosting for Non-profit organizations

When deciding on a webhost for your non-profit’s website, cost is definitely a big factor. These days you can get affordable web hosting for less than $10 a month. Sometimes even less.

Since I started building webpages about 5 years ago, I have used several different web hosts. Some were free, with advertisements, and some were paid services. I currently use two different webhosts, one is free and the other is a paid service. I recommend them both without hesitation, as the service is extremely reliable. Best of all, they are both affordable!

If you are getting ready to build a website for your organization, or are looking for a new, reliable webhost, then check out the following recommendations:
