The 12th Annual Used Book Sale for Mississauga Symphony held from Thursday, September 19th to Sunday, September 23rd 2007 in Mississauga, (Ontario, Canada) at the Sheridan Centre. The book sale is quite large, with 54,000 books. The books are divided into 48 categories from history, sci-fi, romance and other genres.
Last year’s book sale had 20,000 books and the symphony was quite pleased to raise $46,000. The book sale also features CDs, DVDs, records, games, puzzles and assorted epherma (postcards and calendars and other printed materials).
Books are sold for very reasonable prices, from fifty cents to $3.00 each. The book sale has thirty dedicated volunteers that work year-round to prepare for the sale, but during the book sale week there are more than 180 volunteers working on the sale. The book sale is the symphony’s largest fundraiser of the year.

Hi,
I am a used book dealer in Bangkok, Thailand. I am interested to buy books in large quantity for example; my minimum order size is 1 cubic meter.
My interest is good quality board books of any contents & languages for babies, toddler and kindergarten kids. If your location is close to port and sea freight forwarding is possible in the location then please kindly let me know.
Best Regards,

The Mississauga Symphony Used Book Sale’s claim to have more than 55.000 for sale this weekend is at best misleading. They are continuing a misguided policy first implemented last year— only the books on tabletops are for sale.
Every used book sale stores excess books under the tables, and volunteers restock as needed. After exhausting table stock, dedicated buyers peruse the stock underneath - as long as your knees hold out anyway.
I used to come from out of town (a 2 hour drive) every year with my father, almost from the beginning, but last year while I was looking through the under table boxes a volunteer stopped me, and hit me with the new policy - no looking at the books under the tables.
Angry at being treated like a criminal last year, I wrote to find out if they had discontinued this foolish policy. In the absence of a response I stayed home, but Dad gave it one more try and they are continuing to do this.
The misguided intent seems to be to force customers to keep coming back every day of the sale. It’s worked the opposite for me.
Saying there are 55,000+ books is meaningless if customers aren’t allowed to choose from among them all. At best unethical, at worst false advertising.
I feel sorry for all the volunteers, and people who donate books and cds to support this worthy cause only to have power wielding organizers ruin it for everyone. It used to be a good sale, but I know I won’t be back.

Hi Laurie, Wow, I have never heard of a used book store or sale keep books under the table but not let you buy them! I don’t really see the reasoning for this… you are right people will not come back the next day just to see what books are on the table. It also sounds like a lot of extra hassle and bad customer service.
